Vasa Mihich is a renowned Los Angeles based artist known for his sleek, colourful and captivating acrylic sculptures. He is a Senior Professor of Design at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he has taught color theory for many years.
For nearly 50 years he has been working in acrylics, whether on canvas or through sculpture.
His sculptures, with their different geometric planes suspended in acrylic, are dynamic and endlessly fascinating.
This work is a fantastic example of the mysterious "ombre" affect that Mihich has mastered. How do these dense shades of dark blue, purple, and pink merge into each other?
This is a particularly excellent example of Mihich's striking prism work on a table top sized sculpture. It is in a classic rectangular format with super saturated colors, and comes with a clear acrylic base.
