The sports artist for The Pittsburgh Press, Weinstein depicted everyone’s favorite mountain lion as a fun but fierce cartoon mascot. Weinstein’s ROC illustrations came about during Pitt’s “Golden Panthers” era, in which coach Johnny Majors facilitated the rejuvenation of Pitt football, including their 11 straight winning seasons and 1976 National Championship.
